Using Maildir format means that the mailbox is a directory with
subdirs in it: new cur tmp.
tmp is used for temporary writing, new contains new (ie unread)
messages, cur all the other.
qmail provides maildirmake for creating a new Maildir.
I do not understand your ./Maildir/new/mutt/
