True, but that's what makes mutt such a flexible MTA. Just go through the
variables section and see whether you can make use of a setting. When do
not understand what it's good for you'll probably don't need it - for
now. :)

To me mutt is the best mail client I know of, but it's just a
mail client no more, no less. Its flexibility is due to its complexity
- but once you get used to the mutt way of configuring it's rather
easy. Don't give up!
