What do you mean by this? Like keeping mail in the POP3 mail
server after downloading?

I may be wrong but I think that the "weed out" feature (including
ignore and unignore) in mutt is used to remove unwanted mail headers 
from being displayed when reading mail. You also have the option to
toggle on/of the displaying of all headers while reading mail with 
the "h" key.

Your questions above touches on procmail, fetchmail aside from mutt.

to the Mutt Manual, which explains how a mailing system in Linux
