Hi! I've been lurking here for a week or so, but now it's time for a
barrage of questions.

I previously used The Bat (one of the better MUA's for Win32, IMO), but
got tired of it and decided to fool around with my linux laptop that has
been mostly a toy until now. So in a rather sado-masochistic move I
switched to mutt and vim. :-) After the initial shellshock, I found the
combination quite enjoyable.

Not all of the questions are 100% mutt-related, so if you feel they're
way OT, just don't answer.

1: What does the * mean on the tree arrow in a thread? I've searched the
manual for this repeatedly, but I must keep missing it.

2: I'm having major problems with my locale settings -- I can't get mutt
to display Swedish characters and umlauts, I get an octal value instead.
(This seems to be a pretty common question, according to Google...) I've
tried various locale settings, but I still can't get it to work. 'locale
-a' gives a list of available locales, and 'swedish' is the closest
choice -- there's no 'sv_SE' available. (I've been using linux for a
couple of years, but I've never really done any administrative stuff)

3: I have two separate inboxes, one normal and one for spam that I check
every now and then. For normal mailboxes I ignore most of the headers,
but for the spam box I want to show all headers, so I have the following
hooks:

  folder-hook . 'ignore X- Resent- Errors-To Envelope-To'
  folder-hook IN-Spambox 'unignore *'

This part works fine -- ignore headers in normal boxes, show all in the
spambox. But when I return to another mbox, all headers are unignored,
apparently ignoring the first folder-hook. Where's the painfully obvious
mistake here?
