that won't do what he's asking; he's saying he'd like to use the shared
libs and other extra files from the other version of mutt and only keep
the binary around.  i'm not sure there's a way to do that...

however you can most likely get the space taken up by your private copy
knocked down pretty low... strip the binaries and remove the
documentation files you don't need.  i doubt the entire thing will end
up taking up very much space.
