Good to know I'm not the only one! I read somewhere that when your eyes get older, they have more difficulty picking out the subtle differences between light shapes on a dark background. I know that's true for me. When I was younger, I did all my programming with the lights out and a black background to my screens. If I try that now, I find I have a hard time focusing and keeping track of which line I'm on. No such problems when I use a light background.
