For correct threads, i.e. if the user hasn't chosen to use just the subject line, it uses "References:" which refer to the message-id of the mail(s) to which it is responding. Do "H" and look at the headers and you'll see under References: <20100919012315.gc36...@fbsd.t60.cpu> <20100919071840.ga26...@murdoc> etc. Kind regards Michael
