Ok, I'm guessing maybe I don't have something optimized, but when I'm watching either LiveTV or New LiveTV, the channel changing is SLOW. I've seen it take 15+ seconds for both.
Mythtv - 0.20 Hauppauge PVR-250 dongle.bin.mvpmc-20061015 --------------------------------------------------------------------- $ cat dongle.bin.mvpmc.config TZ=MST+7MDT,M4.1.0/2,M10.5.0/2; export TZ echo "TZ=$TZ; export TZ" >> /etc/shell.config echo "192.168.0.9 mythtv1.recluce.org mythtv1" > /etc/hosts echo "192.168.0.15 mythtv2.recluce.org mythtv2" >> /etc/hosts rdate -s 192.168.0.9 mkdir /var mkdir /var/myth/ mount -t nfs -o nolock,rsize=4096,wsize=4096,nfsvers=3 \ 192.168.0.9:/var/video/ /var/myth/ mvpmc -f /etc/helvR10.fnt -s 192.168.0.9 -r /var/myth/recordings & -------------------------------------------------------------------- I was wondering if I need to reconfigure some settings with the changes to the dongle and/or Mythtv? As can be seen, I am using NFS currently. Should/can I get rid of NFS and go straight Mythtv protocol? I have thought about putting a 2nd NIC in my Mythtv BE and then direct connecting my MVPMC and putting it on 192.168.1.xxx for performance reasons. Is this necessary? Let's see, for the last question: Windows XP Pro box Windows XP Home box Windows 2000 box mythtv 0.20 BE - nfs (PVR 250 / PVR 150) mythtv 0.20 BE - slave - nfs (PVR 150 / Haup WinTV / Air2PC ATSC) Debian Sarge general fileserver (backups/samba) Print Server device Cable Modem (Adelphia, soon to be Comcast) MVPMC - nfs All boxes are running 100 Mb. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Using Tomcat but need to do more?
