I'm thinking that it's probably time for mvpmc to change its configuration
file. Currently, the file sets up configuration options for the box, but all
MVPMC options are specified on the commandline. What if instead of (or in
addition to) the commandline, the configurations could be specified in the
same or some other config file. For example...
/etc/mvpmc.config -----------------
# GLOBAL SETTINGS
SCREEN_TYPE=NTSC
SPDIF=FALSE
# and so on ...
# SERVER SETTINGS
DEFAULT_SERVER=192.168.10.1
#MYTHTV_SERVER=
#SLIMSERVER=
EMULATION_SERVER=192.168.10.2
#VLC_SERVER
# VLC SETTINGS
VLC_QUALITY=dvd
VLC_BITRATE=5000
# etc...
# REMOTE CONTROL SETTINGS
# each button on the remote can be assigned to a particular mvpmc "module"

RADIO_BUTTON=mclient
PICTURES_BUTTON=filesystem:/share/media/images
FF_BUTTON=30
RW_BUTTON=10
FSKIP_BUTTON=120
BSKIP_BUTTON=120
