I have a question about the way that VLC handles audio and the way my 5.1 channel receiver will use it. I am planning to encode my videos in mp4 using h264 video and AAC audio. I have already confirmed that the video looks great through VLC and mvpmc (thanks!!). I believe that AC3 is what my receiver understands for surround sound. Will VLC convert AAC audio into AC3 so that I can get surround sound from my videos?
