What's a Squeeze Network?

Love these web sites that want you to register before telling you
anything. The Slimdevices discussion isn't any help either - the forum
stickies are NOT an overview of the service - if it is a service.

MClient attempts to emulate a basic slimdevices player. Beyond that, we
keep adding CLI support for things like full screen listings of song
titles and on screen display of album covers (not yet in the load).

So, MClient should do just about anything a basic slimdevice client can
do - with the possible exception of synchronous music playing (I have my
suspicions that hardware buffer differences make that difficult).

MClient should be able to use the radio feature of the Slimserver
program. There is currently a Slimserver fix for the delayed title
listings of what is playing (given the internet radio station is
providing such information). But not everyone is using the latest
Slimserver (I think there is a feature request for Debian to upgrade to
the latest version of Slimserver).

If the Squeeze Network is a way for a Slimserver client to connect up
directly to the internet there is no support in MClient for that.
Instead you can try Martin's method. He has added the ability to
directly connect to internet radio stations in the file browsing feature
of mvpmc. You make a list of the stations URL and place them in a *.m3u
play list. Then, NFS export that to the mcpmc box. Using the file
browser poke your way to this NFS mounted file and pick a radio station
as if you were picking a song.
