Not quite the same thing, but I use ffmpeg to convert XVIDs to MPEGs all the time to watch on my mvpmc.

Hi,

Has anyone had any success with files created using ffmepg?

I'm trying to shrink some of my Fraisier episodes. They are all recorded using a PVR-150 at 352x576 and play fine like that.

I've been using ffmpeg to shrink them to 352x288 but the sound comes out pretty much unplayable with loud metallic distortion, out of sync etc.

I've even tried using:

ffmpeg -i Frasier.mpg -vcodec copy -acodec copy Frasier.small.mpg

So this *should* be an exact copy of the original with no changes but it's still just as bad.

Is there something funny about ffmpeg created files?

(I'm using a CIFS mounted drive and the filesystem browser to play them, using dongle 0.3.3.)

Cheers

Steve
