Sounds really useful, particularly for anyone recording HD material who
may want to covert it for mvpmc SD playback.

On a related note I was playing with the Myth DVD Import/Rip function
yesterday, trying to rip a vob for playback on mvpmc.

Ripping the vob as 'perfect' almost seemed to work - I assume that
either removes the CSS encryption (it was a region 1 disc with a DVD
drive set to region 2 - libdvdcss installed on the Myth box), or that
mvpmc is able to crack the keys and decrypt it itself...

However... The playback wasn't smooth and the audio patchy/out-of-sync.
I suspect that was because it was too much for the wireless network.
Unfortunately getting it to transcode the output down to something more
manageable results in it generating an MPEG4 avi, which mvpmc obviously
can't cope with. What's the easiest way of transcoding a vob to a lower
bit rate MPEG2?
