As Martin said, your syntax looks fine. This is what I was getting at regarding mount.cifs. I got frustrated with it enough that I tracked down the source code to see what conditions trigger this misleading "Invalid argument" error. Although I don't recall the specifics, the error is in fact misleading, and can be triggered by things on the server side.
