See the wiki for several alternatives to the SF list archives. > Whenever I delete a MythTV show from the mvpmc UI, the show in > instantly deleted from the MythTV backend, but the MVP slows down to a > crawl... > > Does anyone else see this? Yes, it's a known problem that several people, including myself, have reported. I first mentioned it in this thread: http://www.nabble.com/Ethernet-overrun-errors-td11790424s24861.html which goes off on a red herring relating to Ethernet overrun errors, and then it came up again here: http://www.nabble.com/Some-Bugs-td14230987s24861.html with speculation that the cause is memory fragmentation or just running out of memory when loading large lists of shows. > ...a soft reboot (pressing the power button on the remote) seems to > make it a little bit better. It seems to take only a few operations before things slow down again, though I haven't done a close comparison between soft and hard restarts. It's certainly possible that a soft restart doesn't free up as much memory. What's your basis of comparison? The amount of time it takes before you start seeing slow behavior? Or is the UI partially sluggish immediately after a soft restart? -Tom ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Check out the new SourceForge.net Marketplace.
