Ah, it was indeed, in a way.  All my albums have the year in square brackets
[] in the folder name.  It threw me because a few folders show up as blank
lines in the main list (like Bjork because of the o with dots), so I figured
there was an issue with special characters.  However, all of the folders
with brackets did show up as a folder I could navigate into.  However, once
navigated into, the files didn't show.  This is what confused me.  When I
renamed a folder to remove the brackets then all of the files within showed
up.  So it wasn't a problem with the names of the files, but with the
folder, which is why I missed it the first time.  So I hereby change request
#1 to "support [] and other weird characters in paths"!
