In case anyone else has the same issue, this is fixed in the daily builds.
However the latest dailys seem to have problems with slightly unsmooth
playback which is particularly evident in the sound (a bit like flutter on an
analogue tape recording). It may just be effecting higher bitrate recordings.
The daily build from the 20th February seems to be OK (and fortunately still
has the recording problem fixed), but the builds from the 31st March and 2nd
April have the problem.
Is this a known issue?
All versions hang on a Live TV channel change whilst a recording is in
progress on the backend. I suspect that's because I'm using the new
functionality in Myth 0.21 to record/watch multiple channels from one digital
multiplex on a single tuner card. Whilst recording, it's possible to watch
live TV on the same physical tuner card, but only channels on the same mux.
However, mvpmc hangs regardless of whether or not this is the case. Pressing
Exit and returning to Live TV allows you to watch the selected channel if it
is on the same mux as the recording. If not it selects a channel which is on
the same mux.
I'm not quite sure how live TV on Myth itself copes with this scenario. What
it really needs is for the front end not to assume that all channels can be
viewed on the same (logical) tuner card, but to attempt to find a tuner card
that can provide the requested channel. Is it possible to make it work this
way?
In any case the option to prefer higher numbered tuners for Live TV (which
the Myth Front end offers) would help to alleviate the problem (for anyone
with two or more physical tuner cards at least).
