Both these builds exhibit the same problem.
It only really seems to be a problem when using a wireless connection (it's a
wireless MVP) and also on recordings from BBC1 (which is broadcast at a
higher bit rate than other channels on UK digital terrestrial - around
4.3Mbit/s on one particular recording I was using to test).
There's not much other wireless activity here, and the earlier versions work
fine over wireless.
On the 20th February build, the CPU looks to be about 60% busy when playing
back my test recording, with about 45% CPU time taken by the busiest mvpmc
process (looking at the output from top).
Interestingly the CPU is far less busy when playing back the same recording
on the 2nd March build, with the busiest process taking about 20-25% CPU
time. The symptoms would suggest that the system is maxed out, although the
output from top indicates the opposite - that the CPU is relatively idle.
Is something artificially limiting the amount of CPU time that it's able to
use?

To be honest I don't use Live TV a huge amount. An option to prefer high
numbered tuners would almost eliminate the problem for me for presumably
relatively little work, as my second tuner card is used far less often for
recordings.
