Hi,

At some point soonish I'd like to restart the work I was putting in about
12 months ago to try and simplyify some of the MythTV mechanisms, and
abstract a lot of the LiveTV handling code out of src/mythtv*.c and into
slightly more sensible places in libcmyth. I got quite a long way into
this, but sadly all my work was lost when my laptop was stolen.

I don't have a pre-0.19 MythTV backend to test any changes against, and as
such I'd imagine my changes will probably break the pre-0.19 livetv code.
I think it has been a sufficiently long time since 0.19 was released
(well over 2 years), to consider removing support for pre-0.19 livetv. My
personal preference would be to actually go through libcmyth and delete
the code for it, since it really no longer applies to newer backends, and
can only confuse in the future.

What do people think? Are there many people still using pre-0.19 backends?
My proposal would be only to remove livetv support, not normal
recording playback. Would removing support for LiveTV before 0.19 cause
any/many issues?

Cheers,

Simon
