I just wanted to clarify that the issue was as Martin pointed out. That is,
my wireless mvpmc keep rebooting because the DHCP lease was set to 6 hours.
Since the wireless router the wireless mvpmc communicated with was off over
night the lease was expiring on the mvpmc and it was then unable to contact
the DHCP server. The fix was to simply increase the lease life to a very
log time in the dhcpd.conf file. So for my wireless mvpmc my dhcpd.conf
file includes the following now:
host mvpw1 { # NOTE: Change the hardware ethernet to the MAC address
of your actual MVP
hardware ethernet 00:0d:fe:39:1b:eb;
fixed-address 192.168.10.205;
default-lease-time 864000000;
max-lease-time 864000000;
filename "dongle.bin.mvpmc";
option root-path "/home/mvp,rsize=4096,wsize=4096,nolock";
}
The addition of the default-lease-time with the large value is what fixes
the issue.

Subject: Re: [Mvpmc-users] Wireless reboots after Creating Setup Image
The three responses provided a lot of good information. I assume that
hitting the green power key actually suspended the box and not just shut off
the video. I am using the same dongel.bin file for both my wired and
wireless devices. My dhcp server has a default lease of 6 hours, however
I'm using fixed address based on MAC address so I don't believe the lease
life comes into play, but to be sure I've greatly increased the default
lease life. Is there anyway from the mvpcm telnet shell to tell what the
lease life is? The wireless router that my wireless mediamvp connects to
gets powered off at night, so if this 6 hour lease applies to fixed
addresses then mvpmc would not be able to communicate with the dhcp server
when the lease expires. I guess it's reasonable to assume that having the
gateway down for 6 hours could also have a negative impact on the wireless
MVP's running linux? Thanks for the information I'll do some test using
the information provided, I'm guessing I'll have to move the router so it
stays powered on all night.
Thanks
Brian

I am pretty sure this will happen if mvpmc loses access the the DHCP
server and can't renew the IP or the DHCP server assigns a new IP.
