Both versions are actually capable of outputting PAL or NTSC. Does your MVP have a 21-pin SCART connector on the back, or a few of RCA/Phono connectors on the back? The type of connector (and a default mode setting in the flash memory) are the only difference between the north american and european models as far as I know.
