Indeed just Mythtv and only for recorded mpeg2 files.

I think we're all going to assume you only use mvpmc for a mythtv front 
end.  But it would help to find out what mvpmc applications you are 
running.  For instance, I cache album covers for mclient and would like 
to know if anyone stumbled into a situation where I don't handle that well.

It's probably a memory leak.  They can be hard to find.  Especially if 
someone has a unique situation.  Rebooting cleans it up as memory gets 
reinitialized to a known state.  Good programming practices are probably 
the best safeguards.  I'm not sure what Jon's power cycling does.
