I haven't been through the VLC setup, but I'm guessing the password is something that's specified in a VLC config or command line. I suspect that even though the VLC server is using the telnet protocol, you aren't actually logging in to the machine via telnet, so the user account password is irrelevant. > Is there a way to make a single VLC server for mvpmc for all the > recordings? My recollection is that there is no VLC integration with mvpmc's MythTV client. To use VLC you need to go through mvpmc's file browser.
