Trying anew. I'm running a MediaMVP 86019 Rev H2 Lot 1306 now. (This is my
good one - hope I don't brick it.)
I'm running on a different Mythbuntu backend too, but still running
Mythbuntu 9.10 with latest updates.
Because I'm running H2 hardware, I used the setup guide here:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/MythTV/MediaMVP_Frontend
(Is there a better guide?)

mvpmc boots up and everything seems fine. The first thing I tried was to
watch live TV. That failed with the error "spawn livetv failed".
A second message pops up behind that dialog that suggests I check
/etc/hosts. (BTW, this message will not go away.) I checks the hosts file
and it looks fine:

# cat /etc/hosts
127.0.0.1 localhost localhost
192.168.2.7 Myth2 Myth2

What can I try next?
