Not me, but for those curious: http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/MiroBridge#What_is_Miro_Bridge.3F "In essence Miro Bridge enables Miro to emulate a MythTV recording device" This python script provides an interface between Miro's videos, graphics, meta data and MythTV's "Watch Recordings" screen and MythVideo. Miro Bridge is intended to be used as a cron job which triggers Miro to update it's feeds, expire old videos and auto download new videos. Once the Miro updates are complete Miro Bridge: * adds new videos to MythTV's "Watch Recordings" screen * moves watched videos to MythVideo * removes from MythVideo videos that have been expired/removed by Miro I ran across this recently when reading up on the new features in the latest MythTV release (which I haven't upgraded to yet). I dismissed this as being useful to an mvpmc setup, as mvpmc doesn't support MythTV's MythVideo library. When I first read "Watch Recordings" screen I thought of the "Watch List" (http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Watch_List), but that's of course something else. The "Watch Recordings" screen is just the MythTV term for the regular show listing, which mvpmc obviously supports. I guess the limitation is going to be finding content that's playable on an MVP, or injecting a transcode step. I've bee wondering for years now why MythTV doesn't provide more direct support for online video content. (I've mentioned the idea of virtual tuners before.) They seem to have shied away from the whole area for legal fears, and now are being eclipsed by other media players that are embracing this approach as legitimate content sources become available. -Tom ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Planet: dedicated and managed hosting, cloud storage, colocation Stay online with enterprise data centers and the best network in the business Choose flexible plans and management services without long-term contracts Personal 24x7 support from experience hosting pros just a phone call away. http://p.sf.net/sfu/theplanet-com _______________________________________________ Mvpmc-users mailing list Mvpmc-users@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/mvpmc-users mvpmc wiki: http://mvpmc.wikispaces.com/
