Thanks for your replies.  I do have the checkbox "Do not create a
completed copy of this task on recurring" unchecked.  What I was
missing was the fact that I had to delete the Notes in the new task.
I expected that if the new task was actually new it would have a blank
Task Note.  I had not tried what you suggested.  And Richard no I do
not need to create notes for more than just the next occurence of the
task.

I would probably like to see an option of copying the Task Note on the
recurrance or not but at least I know the Task Note is separate for
each copy of the task.
