Hey!  You can do by date!

   1. Right-click on any level of the hierarchy (whichever one you want the 
   sub-tasks to sort)
   2. Select "Advanced"
   3. Select "Sort Subtasks"
   4. You get a three-level sorting (much like in Excel)
