ugh, I have trusted MLO expicitly to keep track of my life. Apparently I have very simple needs as most of the issues that get posted on here just are not issues at all for me. But as of last night I suddenly realize some frustration. Now in teh grand scheme of things even in my world its a small problem, but it is sypmatic of a larger concern. In my business I need specialty refererence information that is subscription based. Due to the size of the corporation I work for we usually contract for this information using multi year deals, sometimes 3 sometimes 5 but really can probably be any number of years depending on factors at the time of negotiations. I'm on the ad hoc commitee for specifications of what I need to use but the negotiation of the contract, signing, etc is all handled by corporate and legal. I never receive the final contract, just the length of it. it usually takes 6 months to spec and negotiate and not having it in place before the expiration date casues issues. The last time I relied on corporate to keep track and it expired. So I figured this time I would set up a task, set in the future to remind me 6 month ahead of time to contact corporate to set things in motion and moved on with life. last night my Android phone gives me a reminder that the contract expires jan 25 2014. for some reason this does not sit right with me. My perception is its too soon but maybe not time flies today at work on my desktop I get no such reminder and decide to check. my desktop says the reminder starts in 2016 and the contract runs out in 2017 omg! how many of my future tasks are all jazzed up now due date wise becasue of the syncing of the two platforms? now all of a sudden all the trust I once had is gone! what do I do now?
