It sounds like James is talking about a whole different issue where the
task that has started in the next 7 days does not show up at all in the
7day view. It doesn't because the due date is more that 7 days away,
but James is saying that it should show up because it needs to be
worked on within the next 7 days.

feature that might be closer to what you want. It’s called the “Today”
view and the button for it sits just below the inbox button and the
list of Outline views. It gives you trend lines showing the number of
events and the number of active tasks on each day. If you tap on a
point on the line, you get a list of the events and active tasks for
that day. “Active” means a task which starts on/before and is due
on/after that day. Is that useful for you? Who knows, it may be added
to the desktop at some point, if enough people request it.
