yes. but make sure it works for your hardware. if you can, rebuild the
kernel with software suspend support. then, a #echo 4 >
/proc/acpi/sleep should put your computer into hibernation. but make
sure you have resume=/dev/swap_partition in your kernel parameters.
read kernel documentation on power and software suspend for more
details.

#ntsysv and remove services that you don't require. for example, if
