Follow-up Comment #1:
I'm assuming this is on current git? Which windows does this problem happen
for? It should not happen for any one of the subwindows/dialogs commonly used
during painting, like "Color Triangle", "Brush Selector", "Layers". That is,
they steal focus, but they also accept Tab for toggling the windows again.
I just tested this again on Awesome for the windows stated above. Which
window-manager are you using?
The "Preferences" window does not accept this key tho, this is expected.
