I have been thinking about the concept of brush modes that work on the
composited image a few times recently. I'm not yet sure how to implement it
efficiently, but I really want to finish the concept and give it a try.
If it works out we will probably have no need for layer modes, and the chance
to have a concept that might actually work better for painting than what most
applications do. (And the risk that it might not.)
I'd like to claim this task for some time. If I don't get anywhere with this
in the next 6 months, then I will admit that I don't have time for this.
