Yep, the View menu is the standard place for that toggle (and any other
toolbar toggles) :)

and its parent should address the problem with text appearing in some
configurations. It's a bit of a heavy-handed approach right now, I'll confess,
but it should work. Can you pull the latest head and retest please?
Customisation, maybe later. I'd like to do it with a right button menu on the
toolbar itself, or with toggles for groups of related buttons somewhere in the
View menu (tablet users may not have right buttons available, assume
nothing!); but I think it's more important to get the layout of the toolbar
right for wide-ish screens first. Excuse the mess, and expect things to change
in master for a bit!
