Follow-up Comment #4, bug #18452 (project mypaint):
Much better, I can actually see all the buttons and it doesn't waste nearly
as much vertical space. I've got the toggle bound to tilde for quick
switching, so I'm going to give it a chance for a bit. Everything seems
fine.
View menu makes sense, and it didn't surprise me that it was there once I
found it. I just checked right-click and options first based on the behaviour
of other apps (KDE in general, Firefox as a specific non-KDE app, let you
customise the toolbars by right-clicking them). I felt like an idiot when I
found what I wanted less than a minute after I hit submit on the report. ;)
> Excuse the mess, and expect things to change in master for a bit!
That's the fun of following development with git! I make snapshot .deb
packages of it with "checkinstall" so I can revert if something breaks, but
otherwise I follow it closely to see the fun new things. :)

On customisation:
If/when you set up customisation for the toolbar, KDE's model is easy to
grasp and probably not too hard to implement. If you're unfamiliar, a quick
explanation: you right click a toolbar and a context menu appears, with two
sub-menus for text position and icon-size, and a "Configure Toolbars..."
option that pops up a dialog for changing the order and visibility of icons.
"Configure Toolbars" has a two-pane layout with available toolbar buttons on
the left, and visible buttons on the right. Order in the visible buttons list
affects the order in the toolbar.
The Firefox drag-drop design when in customise mode is a nicer metaphor, but
requires more precise input and may be more complicated to implement.
Obviously those aren't the only ways to do it, they're just the ones that
stand out in my memory as working fairly well.
