Follow-up Comment #1, bug #19053 (project mypaint):
I can't reproduce this (Arch Linux, MyPaint 1.00+, Awesome 3.4.10, Awesome
rc.lua configured with sloppy mouse focus).
There is exactly one condition when I cannot paint on the canvas -- that is
when a blocking dialog, like "Open" is open.
