Follow-up Comment #2:
Confirmed, to arbitrary prefixes ("scons prefix=/tmp/gna19776 install"). I can
confirm that moving PREFIX/lib/libmypaint-brushlib.so into PREFIX/lib/mypaint/
also fixes the problem.
Running ldconfig from "scons install" is probably a bad idea unless scons has
a wrapper for it. In particular, for Debian-ish builds, it's better left to
the packaging environment and maintainer scripts.
It's probably fine to amend the docs to recommend running ldconfig now we can
build a standalone brushlib.
