I can see from this why you want layer support ;-)
Currently my spare time is very limited. But I'm starting to think that I
need layers for myself too.

Umm... I have to display the brush names somewhere ;)

I'd guess it is bi003 (around number 24 in the default list, rather redish
preview; slow size change, moderate lightness change). The brown ones seem
too blurry or too hard-edged for what I see, unless you got an old version
lying in ~/.mypaint/brushes/.

There are still too many once-created-never-used brushes in the default
collection.

There is a big spam problem that is still unsolved. I don't want to put my
time into this. I can only hope that Øyvind (who created the forum) finds a
solution.
