Hello, So I have checked out this public IRC log thing a bit and the situation is the following: * we can use http://www.irseek.com/ ... i am not sure how exactly it works for public logs but you have to be a channel operator to register logging. They had some issues with freenode as they apparently logged channels without letting people know. At the moment freenode's position on public logs is that there should be a notice in the channel's title that the channel is being logged. * it is of course possible to set up a private logger bot but this will take more time and will require maintenance. In a few months I will have something like this (with other people doing most of the admin work, because I am not diligent enough in this aspect). Of course the notice is required in this case too.
