Hi, I was the translator of the japanese version, I only know a little japanese, I know more chinese, I ask some question to japanese friend, but it could still have errors and it's not complete I would be happy if you can continue this work.
I'ts on the main git branch, or your can find it here : http://popolon.free.fr/mypaint/patchs/ja.po The same way, I seen a complete traditionnal chinese translation, I don't know if I can get strings from this version and translate them in simplified, I translated few that was not obvious for me before. Perhaps I need to add the traditional chinese author on the file. If there is a continental chinese on the list I would be happy to see a complete version. For the french version, we work at 3 to reread my quick straight on translation, I hope to have better version before the end of the week ? If there are native speaker of chinese/japanese translator, I can concentrate with other french translators on french version.
