Good news :)
I also think the features are very good for a new 1.0 release. Very good
job to all contributors ;)
From a user point of view, no problem if 'brush blending modes' are for
a next release, I'm really happy with layer blending mode.
Maybe I still feel the lake of a simple 'colorise' blending mode ( for
artworks started on a b&w basis ) if someone know how to do it or if
it's a easy addition to do, It would be super cool to make the layer
blending modes complete ( imo ) .

Because I'm not fond off HSL method used by Gimp , and prefer HSY method
who can be found in Photoshop by default or in the (large) blending mode

But any solution would be warmly welcome for sure.

Good to know. I'll also bring some small tweak to my presets, just some
of them works more smoother on low config, or give better results.
I will zip it to the ML when it will be ready.

IMO the git master branch is in a good condition. There are many open bugs
that should be fixed but IIRC almost no regressions since 0.9.1. Luckily,
we have users who productively work with the git version. Now is a good
time to remind us about your (least) favourite bug! :-)
Sadly my personal MyPaint TODO list has grown to the point where it is
starting to get useless. I hope I can still get one thing or two done
before 1.0, though.
We could also use some brush collection updates. The default brush
collection has been pretty stagnant since 0.9. I tend to blame myself,
though, for the lack of new brush engine features ;-)
