Not sure about autohide. Things like Unity, Gnome or Windows 8 might
make it partly unworkable. Can't help to give it a try I guess, and
the Tab key should still work as a hide/show-all.

Yes. That's an omission.

Shouldn't be too difficult; the layout code is already written and
could be reused. It uses palette objects and not arrays of colours,
but conversion would be easy. Guess we won't need the
approximate-matching aspects :)
