Hello. Are you able to connect to MySQL Server if you blank the root password? Use mysql command line client from 5.0 distribution. Have you run mysql_fix_privilege_tables script? Please, provide the CREATE statement for mysql.user table.See: http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/access-denied.html
