Hi,

My personal choice would be either Red Hat Linux 7.1
or
Mandrake Linux 8.0 (or another Linux distro.)
Here are some of the reasons: reliability,
high-performance, secure, open, free, and the freedom
it gives (in a lot of ways.) These properties apply
not only for running MySQL, but any other application!

Linux Rocks! Go for it!!
