what exactly are you missing here? http://www.mysql.com/downloads/mysql/ http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/mysql/#downloads select "Source Code" and you get a lot of options like src.rpm and even tar.gz-tarball (mysql-5.6.3-m6.tar.gz)
