You have a virus on your system sending email with virus attachments. As a
respected Individual or company in business, it is imperative that you fix
your system by deleting the virus infection. Below are some simple steps you
can take so it won't be sent to anyone else.

WHY YOU NEED TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT...

By not doing anything, you run the risk of:

+ Looking incompetent because you can't secure information within your
organization.
+ Appearing slow to act, and change to your business environment.
+ All of the information on your system may become corrupt, destroyed, or
altered (in the favor of a hacker).
+ You will get a reputation for being weak when your system security can be
bypassed and passwords can be sent to other hackers.
+ It will slow down your internal system, projects, and software by damaging
important files.
+ Your trade secrets will be lost or sent to hackers who will sell or give
them away to your competition.
+ You will lose 50% or more of your customers and clients as soon as all of
them get a virus from you at your email address due to self spreading
viruses.
+ People will not trust you or your company.

WHY HACKERS WILL TARGET YOU...

1. Because they want to see if they can do it and get away with it.
2. Because they Hate you, your company, your country, your race, etc..
3. Because there are no consequences for there actions, 500,000 hackers
versus 1000 FBI.
4. Hacker tools are readily available for download and EASY to find!
5. Destroying things makes people who are upset feel better; You are an easy
target.
6. It takes them seconds and costs them NOTHING.
7. They get to hear about it on TV, radio, or the newspaper.
8. They are going to steal your idea and sell it, or give it away to hurt
you.
9. You do Nothing about it, you are like sheep ready for the slaughter.

HOW TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM...

+ Get a solid Firewall which will block almost all hacking attempts, and
virus attacks. Place the firewall on all the computers you have that have a
connection to the Internet and/or outside networks.

+ Get a full time Antivirus system that fits your needs to remove viruses
that do bypass your firewall/get on your system. This means on a LAN you
should have a package that is designed for a LAN not a personal PC/MAC.

+ Update your virus protection frequently. Vendor that tell you this isn't
important are people to be avoided, they usually are incompetent. New
variations of viruses are programmed on a HOURLY basis.

+ Don't open email with attachments from people that you don't trust (This
may be difficult for businesses).

DON'T BELIVE ME???

I have been programming since I was ten years old.
I have become a CIO before I was 21.
I have written Viruses and ran them to test my system in under 1 minute.
I have been to Cal Tech and JPL.

PS. Please circulate this letter to anyone who has done nothing about a
virus attack or think anti-virus/firewalls programs are more trouble than
they are worth. Maybe they will get a clue.
