Hello all, been lurking for a bit and have come across something I can't
quite figure out. I did a source install of MySQL and everything went
great, could connect and look around, etc. I want it to autostart on
reboot and moved the mysql.server file into /etc/rc.d/init.d so it would
start on reboot, but unfortunately it doesn't. It's still startable by
running /usr/local/mysql/bin/safe_mysqld &. I poked around in the
mysql.server file and tried diff setting but to no avail. I checked out
the Manual and went back through the old list stuff but couldn't find
anything of note. Am I headed in the right direction with this by placing
it in the init.d section, or is there somewhere else it goes. Also, do I
need to set the PATH, EXEC and other fields in mysql.server before it will
work or is it standalone?

Thanks in advance.
