I agree with that. It wasn't really a problem using a manual for a subrevision higher than the version I used, but to V4, some things changed, so the V4 manual is not really helpful. Perhaps the guys at MySQL could just make an additional Sourceforge project (mysql-doc) and dump the "old" manuals there before removing them from the website. BTW: If you have all the programs available, try a "make manual" in the Docs subdir.
