As long as you install either of them in their own directory, like in /usr/gnu or /usr/local/gnu, the user should be fine. We know that MySQL works VERY good with gcc 2.95.2; Compiled with gcc 3.0.x MYSQL also appears to work good. Trond, with a compile it's very hard to generalize when it works or when it doesn't work. Just because it can't be used to compile a certain program (the Linux kernel ?), it doesn't mean that it isn't the best compiler for a lot of other programs... If you do know of any serious problems with gcc 3.0.x, please email me privately; I would really like to know about these! (Library conflicts is not a problem) Regards, Monty --------------------------------------------------------------------- Before posting, please check: http://www.mysql.com/manual.php (the manual) http://lists.mysql.com/ (the list archive) To request this thread, e-mail <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To unsubscribe, e-mail <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Trouble unsubscribing?
