Hi,
If your hosting compamy provide  PHP support then make a php page,

phpinfo();
?>
-------------------

view this page in browser and you will see lot of information including the
HOSTNAME variable.
Then use that host name in your connection string.
Other wise it is always better to try first with "localhost".
