Hello,
My ISP installed MYSQL -max-3.23.49a-pclinux-gnu-i686 on our dedicated server. They discovered they did not install their client libraries after I had already created users with the Grant permissions. Now that they have reinstalled I can not access mysqladmin in the shell. I cannot even do a shutdown. No one not even root can shutdown the MYSQL server. I did the test in the manual to see if the server can connect: Shell> mysql-u root test It comes back with the server unable to connect. In the user table there are three users with all permissions (one of them is root) none of the three users are able to do a shutdown or any of the permissions that are in the table. It comes back with access denied and password = No but it is Y in the user table. What needs to be done? I can with all three users leave the shell and it will accept the passwords and I can go into mysql> and do SQL queries fine. Thank you for your time.
